Accuracy and editorial standards

How Convertor4U defines units, calculates results, reviews content, and corrects errors.

Calculation method

Factor units are converted through a documented category base unit using high-precision decimal arithmetic. Temperature uses scale-and-offset formulas. Fuel-consumption units that run in opposite directions use reciprocal formulas. Currency uses a dated reference rate and is clearly labeled as an estimate rather than a transaction quote.

Definitions and sources

Every active unit has a visible definition, source, and verification date. We prefer standards bodies and public institutional sources such as BIPM, NIST, IEC, and the European Central Bank data distributed by Frankfurter. Exact legal or standards-based definitions remain exact in the engine; the interface may round their display.

Precision and uncertainty

A converted result cannot be more reliable than its input. Keep guard digits during intermediate work and round the final answer to match the least precise measurement. Reference-rate currency results also carry market timing, provider spread, and fee uncertainty.

Editorial review

Category guides and selected high-value conversion pages are reviewed by the Convertor4U Editorial Team for factual accuracy, plain language, regional context, useful examples, and common mistakes. The review date is shown on the page. Unreviewed pair pages remain available as utilities but are excluded from search indexing, the XML sitemap, and advertising eligibility.

Corrections process

If a definition, formula, source, example, or regional note appears inaccurate, use the corrections form and include the exact page address. We record the report, investigate it against primary standards, update the affected content or calculation, and mark the report resolved. Material definition changes should receive a new verification date.
